Pico Bonito Lodge in Honduras to close in April

Just saw a message on Facebook from naturalist James Adams that Pico Bonito lodge in Honduras will close for good in April.

So sad. And a big loss for local employees, visitors, and conservation effort there.

Know several people here, like us, have visited the lodge in past or hoped to in future.

If you happen to have $4 million lying around, you can buy and save it.

Without that lodge, there is no ecotourism in Honduras. It's hard to describe just what a blow this will be to that area especially--pretty soon there will be nothing left there but palm oil plantations and no jobs. Hopefully something can happen to save this jewel.

I'm really sorry to hear that. I've heard such good things about it. Hope someone can save it.

Thanks for the update. It was on my shortlist of places to visit.
