Peru & Galapagos in June
 

Hello everyone. I have enjoyed reading the reports on this forum. We did an East Africa trip using a lot of advice from the fodors forums.

We are planning a trip to see Machu Pichu and Galapagos in June of this year. We will be arriving on June 15 at 12:50 am from washington DC and leave on June 25th.

I will be traveling with my husband and a 10 yr old son. Can you please suggest a suitable itenerary for us. Also, what is the best way to buy the flight tickets from Lima to Cuzco. What about adding Amazon to this trip? I want it to be a lifetime experience for my son who loves to travel.

We're doing a similar trip in Oct. I think we will fly from Lima to Guyaquil on the coast of Ecuador to begin the Galapagos part. I understand the weather is more sure than flying into Cuzco. But we'll return from the Galapagos to Cuzco and fly from there back to Lima. From Lima we'll go to M.P.
I too would be interested in comments on this itinerary.

klerox - I'm guessing you mean that you'll go from Cusco to MP, not Lima. There's no way to go directly from Lima to MP (without flying to Cusco).

dtnestea - you can easily buy airline tickets from Lima to Cusco over the internet. We booked through Lan Airlines' website. Easy to do - just like at home - e-ticket and an email confirmation.
