Peru & Destination-X
We're planning a trip to Peru in September, and want a smaller group tour, higher end accomodations, to include the Sacred Valley & Machu Picchu. So far, I've narrowed the tour companies to Brendan Tours, SITA, & Peru-Experiences. But, I just got info on a NYC tour company called Destination-X. Does anyone know anything about this company?
Thanks! |
I just came across this. I actually traveled with Destination-X to Costa Rica twice and Ecuador (and the Amazon - AMAZING by the way!) with them. Everything went off perfectly, the guides where great, they spoke English very well (i.e. not thick accents). They were very attentive and quick too. I also found their rates to be less than Brendan Tours, who we also considered.
Hope this helps... and enjoy Peru! |

Destination-X was more "upscale" for one trip to Costa Rica, since it was a big family thing, but when I went myself, I did a more "backpacker/cheap" trip and they did that too. They do work with local guides and people if thats what you be by re-packager. I am not sure what you mean by that?

By all means, avoid Destination-X, which appears to be a one-man operation run out the guy's bedroom. Unprofessional and not knowledgeable. Chris screwed up our plans and we lost $3000+.
