You were so incredibly helpful when I had questions about the Fiesta Premier in Papagayo. Just wondering how you recent trip was. Did I miss a trip report? Hope it was wonderful and thank you again for all of your help!

Hi GreyAngel:
Yes,I just got back from Huatulco Mexico.
This is a very nice and very hot place about 300 miles south of Acapulco along the Pacific Coastline.
We have a charter from my area straight to Huatulco.
It is the last place in Mexico that I had not been to...so it was on my list.
There is a message board dedicated to Huatulco and area and I have helped people on that board.
I did not post a report on the Latin America section of Fodors...although I could have posted under the Mexico section.
But if I see some question on Huatulco I will certainly try to help.
This is beautiful place but like anyplace else soon it will be over run like most other places..give it another 5-6 years.
There was a time, not that long ago ,when Costa Rica was not on many peoples tour list...but now it is right up there with the other major Tropical locations.
Thank you for your kind comments

I stayed at the Gala Resort.
Everything was great at this place, the resort and the grounds and the service is absolutely the best.
I know people talk about how good the service is at various places they have been to...let me just add that to all
the places I have been to in Mexico...the bestservice by far was at the Gala in Huatulco.
If you do not want the hustle and bustle of Puerto Vallarta or Acapulco or Cancun..then treat yourself and go to Huatulco .
This is by far the hottest place I have been to in Mexico.
There was not a day under 95F and one day while on a tour it was 104 F !!! Whew !!
The beach is as good as Puerto Vallarta and Acapulco and Ixtapa/Zihuatanejo ..
but not as good as Cancun or Mayan Riveria..because do not forget these latter two places face the Caribbean Sea which has the torquoise water and white sandy beaches.
Want more info just ask.
The Cruise ship comes ino this area , like allother places in Mexico for those doing the Panama Canal Cruise.

Thanks for the reply, and the advice, Percy! I will check out the Gala!
I love Mexico very much, and hoping to get there this summer, and haven't been to Huatalco or Ixtapa/Zihua yet.
Am torn between them and returning to the Carribbean Riviera Maya...

Hi frankie
If you have never been to Ixtapa/Zihuatanejo then you will like this place also.
Ixtapa is the Tourist place with the beach resorts and Zihuatanejo is the lovely town where most of the Mexicans live that work in Ixtapa.
From Ixtapa to Zihuatanejo it is a 60 cent bus ride just up the hill.
I can tell you lots about the place if and when you decide to go...no use over loading you with information in February.
Either Ixtapa or Huatulco would be great.
I like Mexico also , but then I love Costa Rica...have friends in both places.
Take Care
