One more question: .... For those who have stayed there.... Did you rooms have A/C? (Deluxe Room)

We had a deluxe room, and yet I can't recall if it had a/c. I know we didn't use it as it was cool & we opted to use the screen doors to the balcony so we could sleep with the great sounds from all around. Even in the day it was cool & no a/c was needed - this was earlier this month.

None whatsoever! There was one tiny centipede looking thing on the wall the morning we were leaving, but that is it! I am so jealous - wish I had another trip planned there so I could daydream!!

Well - it took us about an hour to get from the airport to Peace Lodge - and as you probably know San Jose is a little bit further from the airport. I am not certain where the craft markets would be - people talk about Sarchi so that could be a possibility. I wish we would have ended our stay at Peace Lodge - we had our 1st night only there - but it was our anniversary and a great place for that! I have mentioned on other posts that Hacienda Pozo Azul (about an hour north of PL) is awesome for any adventure you're looking for - we spent a day there doing the canopy tour, lunch & rafting (friends did horseback riding & weren't all that impressed with that) - but everything was great - service, the activities, prices, etc. If you have a car I recommend you drive yourself as you will save $. And, the owners at PL highly recommended their tour to Poas & Doka coffee plantation, but we didn't have the time. They were really helpful to talk to.

There is no a.c. at Peace Lodge, but you truly do not need it. You are high enough in the mountains that it isn't as hot there as in other parts of the country. They do have a dehumidifier in the room which was the greatest idea ever for Costa Rica! It was way better than any A.C. could ever be. Peace Lodge was also the only place we stayed that did not have any bugs. I think the altitude plays a part in that too.

We actually never made it to Hacienda Pozo Azul. As much as we wanted to, we were just exhausted by that point and decided to visit Poas (all clouds) and Doka coffee plantation instead. We'll most definitely have to go there next time. Peace Lodge was spectacular!
