PDC ..How to get there?
 

<BR>Please...what is the best way to get from the Airport to Playa del Carmen for 2 people? The van services want $60 - $70 per person round trip. Is a taxi better, or is there a more cost effective way? <BR><BR>Thanks for any help

L,<BR><BR>it is very easy to get into the city and take a bus for about $3US to PDC. you need to be flexible tho'. have you ever been there? my girlfriend and I will be there 12/24-31 if you need advice or would like to meet. i suggest you have a taxi take you from airport to bus terminal and then wait for the next EXPRESS bus to PDC (every 20 min.) bus goes right into the heart of town. we have been there many times - great place!<BR>

Thanks Jeff...but other than bus, what is the most direct way to get to Playa that won't cost a fortune from the airport. I would like to keep each way under $50.<BR><BR>Thanks,<BR><BR>Lyanne

An airport express bus operates from Cancun airport every hour on the half hour to the bus terminal in PDC and cost 65 pesos. Starts around 6:30 a.m.

Elena, when did the bus service start? I must be clueless but have been to Playa and Tulum several times in the past ten years and never knew there was a bus direct from Cancun airport (thought you had to take the bus from the airport to the downtown terminal and then to Playa as Jeff said) Do you catch it right at the airport terminal? <BR><BR>Lynn, as far as I know the taxis aren't much of a better deal than van services. My recollection is that it's about $60 one way from Cancun airport to Playa via taxi, but for some reason it's cheaper the other way around, maybe $45 from Playa to the airport.

I have heard that they were going to start bus service directly from the airport. This is a very good deal if its up and running when you get there, esp. for $65NP. It would be much less hassle. Let's hope they serve cold beer!
