PDC- hotel choice
 

We are going to PDC in Feb. for the first time. We like small hotels...to absorb local color. Deciding between Treetops, Colibri or Paraiso Azul ...does anyone have any input??

I think the Colibri is the best choice-it is small and right on the beach. They have a restaurant that serves brekfast and lunch and a great staff.Feel free to e-mail me if you would like more information on the Colibri.

I stayed in one of the old units at Treetops a few years ago. The room was very basic, but the setting was pretty cool. Last time I was down there I noticed that they were making a lot of changes at Treetops, so not sure what it would be like now.<BR><BR>Also stayed at Paraiso Azul a couple of times. First time was a few years ago when it had a different name and different owners. It was fine - good value for the money.<BR><BR>You know, if I were going back to Playa del Carmen, I would book only my first night in advance and then look for a place. There are loads of little hotels there and you could look around and get a place easily.

Does anyone know where Hotel Colibri is? I can not find any information on it - i.e. rate etc. I tried www.playadelcarmen.com and NOTHING. May people on this post have mentioned it and I am interested in staying there. Is it on the beach??? Was originally going to stay at Blue Parrot or Blue Hotel. 3 couples are going next month...<BR><BR>Steph
