Parking at Manuel Antonio Park

Hi everyone,

Is there parking available at Manuel Antonio Park? Is it free (doubtful)?

Thanks!

Is it safe? Ae there security guards? Am recalling what I've read about frequency of break-ins, need for one person with car at all time, etc, in other tourist aeas.

I guess there are no guarantees , The car park guys seemed to be around all the time , just do not leave any valuables in the car .

Hi
Just returned from a fantastic trip to CR and Manuel Antonio. There is parking at the beach and park and it costs 1000 colones (about 2 USD). There is also a public bus that goes to the park/beach for a minimal charge. Also taxis everywhere. It seemed very safe to me; in fact I think the $$ you pay is a type of security insurance if you know what I mean. The attendants were there and it is in a busy place, so we weren't worried. Play it smart and don't leave anything valuable.

Great - thanks for all your replies! Sounds like it's pretty safe and easy to either park or take the bus. We'll probably end up driving to the park and just making sure that we don't leave any valuables in the car.

kthryn - glad you had such a great trip! I'm counting down the days.

Have a wonderful trip-- you will love Manuel Antonio!! It's a gorgeous area but hot, so dress accordingly.
