Panama Sailboats, Single Traveler Ideas

I am traveling to Panama for eight days at the end of January as a solo traveler, and I’ve been looking at where would be best to visit. I’m looking for more of a beach setting, and I LOVE the idea of taking a sailboat along the Caribbean coast, possibly through Comarca de Kuna Yala and maybe all the way to Cartagena. I’ve heard you can hop on independently-run sailboats at the spur of the moment once you’re in Panama City, but I’m looking for an established, reputable company that’s not going to scam me and that I can book ahead of time. I don’t want to risk getting robbed, caught with a smuggler, ending up in a Panamanian prison, or any other Brokedown Palace scenarios.

My first question is, does anybody know of established multi-day boat tours along the Comarca de Kuna Yala, possibly even going to Cartagena?

Second, does anybody have any ideas for a twenty-something single guy spending eight days in Panama? I'm very flexible.

Hi Joe, my son Robert is about your age, he loved Bocas del Toro, if you like adrenaline and wild scenery, I recommend Los Quetzales trail hike, and river rafting.
About sail boat to Colombia, we heard some interesting stories by one of our guides that visited that coast close to Colombia recently. Make sure you find a reputable Sailboat company!

Thanks for the advice. I decided on three days on three days in Bocas del Toro and three days on a sailboat (sanblassailing.com). I'm the adventurous type, but I still opted to go with a reputable company.

Good Call on the sailboat.
While in Bocas you should contact Captain Livingston. Reputable boat captain that knows the archipelago really well.

Would like to hear about your sailing experience as we are considering 3 days. Is this enough time and how were the accommodations, food and comfort of this trip? Thanks for any advise and pictures too.
