Most folks I have met have liked it with a caveat - it can be very busy and crowded depending on the time of year - like right now it's full of Canucks...
Have heard the rush to book the specialty restaurants is a pain but the food has been getting "okay" ratings for an AI...
The Barcelo next door is smaller and a bit more up market and has been getting good reviews from people lately...
Cheers,
Andrew

I agreed with AndrewGW, I am panamanian and have stayed in both, and I can tell you that the Barcelo is more upmarket and just 1 mile away from Decameron. The Decameron can get REALLY crowded and noisy. To give you and idea we are talking about 600 rooms in Decameron against 220 Barcelo. If you are thinking on quite and peaceful ambiance Decameron might not be your best choice. I also like the food at Barcelo better. Hope this helps...
