Pamela Anderson is filming a TV ad in Costa Rica

There's a big catch here: This will be an ad for some type of potato chips sold in Turkey. (I kid you not.) So unless any of us goes to Turkey or eventually catches the commerical on Youtube, we may never get to see it.

According to news reports, Anderson is staying at Punta Islita and worked on the commerical yesterday on a nearby beach. She reprises her Baywatch lifeguard role. The reporters who stood at a distance and watched said the premise of the ad is that she's called to rescue someone who is having trouble in the water. After running into the surf and saving the person, she sees several men standing in the water, pretending they are drowing too.

What any of this has to do with potato chips, let alone Turkish potato chips, I don't know.

Baywatch re-runs are popular over there.

Couple of years ago was in the BA LHR lounge

with David HasselHoff who got so hammered BA

refused to board him on the plane.

So probably the "star" factor at work still.

Reporters here have tried to pump the other actors in the commercial for information, in particular the young man who was "rescued" by Anderson and received mouth-to-mouth resucitation. None would offer comment, citing confidentiality agreements they signed.

Baywatch (Guardianes de la Bahia) reruns ran here for years after it ended its run in the U.S. but I don't think it's on TV any longer.

Hello to all.

In other celebrity news, Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt and their kids are spending the holidays in Costa Rica. They're not saying where in Costa Rica they will be. They were last here at Christmas 2006 and spent all their time in San Jose, but it was one of their, you know, political/social-cause types of trips. Sources also suggest they're looking to buy property.
