owners part of charm of la finca que ama?
I was thinking about staying two nights here before or after Manuel Antonio and I stumbled across a listing advertising it for sale. From the reviews I've read, part of what makes the place so great is the personality and hospitality of the owners. Our trip is not until next June. Would those of you who have been there still recommend going even though it will probably be under different ownership by then?

For us it wouldn't be the same because we consider Neta and Arbel very good friends. They are the life of the party at La Finca. It would be different for you--you wouldn't miss them while there because you wouldn't know them! The hotel stands on its own very nicely!
It is a very nice hotel and the amenities are excellent. The ladies who help in the kitchen will hang on to those fabulous recipes belonging to Neta's family, I'm sure. They are fantastic cooks and Neta has taught them all the tricks.
They are thinking of starting a family and would like to be back in Israel to do that--close to family. It's been for sale since last summer. There have been 2 or 3 seriously interested parties, but nothing has come of it yet.
I, for one, am counting on them still being there next summer! But if they aren't, you would still enjoy the Costa Rica countryside, the gorgeous view from the terrace, the close proximity to Turu-Bari, Puntarenas and the ferry, and the airport. And the meals. . . .! Good luck!

critti710, I had the same questions in my mind when I booked our reservations for La Finca que Ama. I decided it was worth the risk, and besides Neta was more than fair with her reservation policy! We enjoyed an unforgettable stay at La Finca and I'm truly glad my family enjoyed this experience together. It made a lasting impression on all of us. I wouldn't have missed it for anything.
Neta is an honest and generous person and I would go ahead and make the reservations and put my trust in her. I think chances are that shillmac's wishes may come true and Neta and Arbel may still be at La finca next summer!
Neta wants to find buyers who share her philosophy about La Finca and the community involvement.

Melissa5 is correct.
I spoke to Neta about their plans as well, and believe that they are not going to just sell out to the the highest bidder. They really want someone who is going to carry on their visions and community involvement. It's got to be 'the right buyer'. I think you should keep your plans to stay there as it sounds like even if they are gone, the new owners will also be great.

Thanks for the responses! I think we are going to go ahead and plan to stay at La Finca Que Ama. We were considering Vista del Valle instead, but La Finca just seems more welcoming, and their rates are lower too.
