Over the Water Bungalows

I have seen pictures of over the water bungalows in South pacific and the rooms look wonderful but we really dont want to have to fly a whole day to get there from the east coast and it is more money then we would like to spend. Does anyone know of any resort in South America or the Caribbean that has these. Any suggestions would be helpful. P.S We have heard of a resort called Anthonys Key Resort in Honduras but the resort seems a little to bare bones for us.

Punta Caracol in Boca del Torres, Panama, has over the water bungalows that look very similiar to the ones in the South Pacific but much less expensive and much closer. Try a search for their web site. We are planning to stay there in March. Anthony's Key is not at all like the South Pacific bungalows; it's mostly a great place for those folks who are diving.

Try Caya Espanto in Belize. Somewhat the same idea.

Sorry, but Cayo Espanto in Belize does NOT have over-the-water bungalows. I was last at Cayo Espanto a few weeks ago.

In Cuba they have some resorts like this! I don't know if you are from the US or Canada but if you are American and this is really important to you, you could always fly to Canada and then to Cuba! El Senador is the one resort that comes to mind. It is Canadian owned but I've never been there to really report on it!
Sorry!
