"Oscar" questions

I first want to thank everyone for posting all the info about personal drivers. I am going to CR late Dec contacted Oscar and he is available. My question is How can that be possible? He seems so popular on this board shouldn't he already be booked during high season? Is he a private driver or does he have a company so that when he says he's available he really means his cousin Joe will be driving me? I would like to wrap this up today so any help would be greatly appreciated. My choice is between Osacr or Costa Rica transfers

Thanks!!

You mean his cousin "Jose"? :)

I only know that I have booked Oscar 12/25-1/1. He has assured me that he will be doing the driving so I am hoping your dates are different. His business is with his brother (I think Robert)

Well I think that settles it because I was using him from 12/29 - 1/1 as well. I think I will use Costa Rica Transfers - anybody know anything good/bad about them?

Now I'm wondering how secure my reservation is!

No reason you should worry.

I booked Oscar for 9 days lat year and he was with me all the time.

But if you are worried I would phone him
it is not that expensive to call Costa Rica.
His cell number is 373-2736
The Country Code is 506

There is no area code in Costa Rica.

Bye for now . I am heading for the airport in another hour, heading out on a trip!!!

Hi. We used both Oscar and Costa Rica Transfers in July. Our driver from C.R.T. was very friendly and seemed like a safe driver. His English wasn't very good, but we were able to communicate about the basics. In another thread, someone talked about Luis, who is based at the Orquideas. He drove us for a short while one day and we thought he was terrific. I wonder if he's able to drive for people who aren't staying at the Orquideas.

We used Oscar and he was great; when he had a car problem at one point (gas station put the wrong gas in and ruined his engine) he set us up with Juan Luis and this was a cousin, I believe. I was at Orquideas at the time and he left his card with them...so I wonder if it's the same person jeg mentioned?? Joyce

Oscar was booked, so we used Elmo and then Big Bird on our last trip. I strongly discourage anyone from sharing a car with Snuffleupagus.

I may be the only one who appreciates your humor. . . .

I thought it was funny- as long as Ocsar shows up at the airport to pick us up!

Sorry guys, it's not easy being cheesy.
