orquideas inn - pool suite?
Hi all,
We are looking for a place to stay close to the airport coming and going from san jose on our way to and from osa penninsula. Orquideas looks nice, is recommended and it sounds like a pool suite would work because we need 2 queen beds in the room (we'll have a 7 yr. old with us.) It says that this room opens out onto the pool area. Has anyone stayed in that suite? Is it super loud or should we be ok? We're not arriving until after 7pm and will ideally grab dinner and then probably just want to go to bed, flying out the next morning. Thanks! |
The pool should be quiet while you are there. The food is great there--be sure to not miss breakfast in the morning.
We are actually staying in that suite for our first night in the country before flying to Drake Bay next month. Small world! |
I stayed in that suite last year and thought is was great. You have your own patio too which is nice and there's a path out the back door through the gardens to the hot tub. There was a group of high schoolers that were swimming and playing a bit loudly for a bit but really not enough to bother us. The room is also very spacious.

Orchuideas is on the other side of the airport
from Osa pool suites nice but party central at night cheap rooms have street noise so I might look at www.thealtahotel.com www.casabellarita.com www.adventure-inn.com based on budget coming from thr Osa Happpy Hunting, |
I'm not sure why it matters which side of the airport the hotel is located qwo.

The Orquideas Inn's pool is NOT party central at night. If you're not staying in a roadside room, the place is very, very quiet. Not sure where quovadis got this 'information.'. The only partiers we saw during our three nights there last time were the two lazy dogs who live on the property.
Shuttle service to/from SJO is $12 total, and to/from Pavas is $25. Breakfast is included in room price. |
The food there is great, I think you will really enjoy the pool suite. I've stayed there probably 10-12 times, I've never seen anything that would even come close to being a party. It's very quiet except for sometimes you can hear the jack brakes of the trucks.

I've stayed in the "cheap rooms" and didn't hear much street noise, compared to San Jose, especially.

Bookmarking. :)

I stayed there in the basic room thought it could use upgraded, but it was not a party atmopshere and the grounds and resturant was nice.
|
We, too, have stayed probably a dozen times. Party? I guessed we missed it--every time! Very quiet. We have always avoided the roadside rooms, and generally ask for #9 on the corner downstairs, gardenside. Because most people stay here upon arrival or just before departure, there just isn't a lot going on around the pool or anywhere else, including the Marilyn Monroe Bar.

Orquideas was very quiet when we stayed there. I never even saw/heard anyone in the pool.
When we were eating dinner out on the patio of the MM bar, one of the resident dogs hopped up beside my husband at the table. He didn't try to beg or steal any food, he was just hanging out. We got a kick out of it! |
Thumbs up on the poolside suite. Very large, very quiet.
|
I would have loved that, blackcat!
|
I have also stayed at the Orquideas several times, including the pool suite. Large and quiet, very nice little patio too and as was mentioned, close to the beautiful jacuzzi in the garden. Excellent food!
