Orquideas Inn

I sent a reservation request to the Orquideas Inn via the computer a couple of days ago and have not heard back. Can anyone tell me if it takes a few days or more to hear back from them, or should I try again. I don't want to seem too pushy.

Thanks.

I'd try again; don't worry about being pushy. Sometimes the computers are down and they may not have received your original.

Ditto - had the same problem last year, sent a 2nd request type email and they got back to me. Very busy little place, coupled with sometimes unreliable internet service. Send a nice 2nd request.

You can expect that all over Costa Rica. A lot of places don't seem to feel the need to get back to you immediately -- I guess they're really relaxed from being in beautiful surroundings all the time!

They took a few days to send a confirmation to me.
I do want to advise you to not reserve the garden side or road side rooms. The paint colors are grotesque making the room uncomfortable. The garden side rooms look out to the back of the kitchen/bar building and the kitchen fan noise adds to the undesireable atmosphere. We had booked the gardedside for our first and last nights but when we returned for our last night I asked if we could upgrade.
Eric the desk clerk was very gracious and moved us to the deluxe room annex up the hill at no extra charge. Otherwise it is $10. more and well worth it. The deluxe rooms are spacious with relaxing blue colors and the view out back with seating area is wonderful. The bathroom also was large with two sinks. You can drive up the hill to get close to the rooms or they will help with luggage, if you arrive via taxi. Taxis also drive up for pick up.

Obviously it is all in what you are looking for - BUT we stayed in a Garden Side room for the first and last 2 nights before and after our stay at Bosque del Cabo in the Osa. I found the rooms to be cute and funky. Color schemes for our rooms were exactly as shown on the website, yellow, which I did not find to be grotesque. Yes, the bathroom was small, but how much time was I going to be spending there? And for that matter, how much time was I going to spend in this room? I was actually quite pleased to be so close to the restaurant/bar. Quick short run to the coffee pot each AM.

Now if I were going to spend my entire trip here, then yes I may prefer a room with a great view.

I would easily book the garden room again.
