Only Spanish in BA?
Hello,
I'm travelling to Buenos Aires later this month and don't speak any Spanish. Will this be a problem? |
You should have no problem on hotels, restaurants and touristic places. Taxi drivers and locals do not speak much English but will do their best to help you. Nothing to worry about!

I agree with Nino, most hotels have someone who speaks English on staff...as for taxis, write down the address of where you want to go and hand it to the driver. It can save you a lot of hassles trying to communicate, each in his own language...
|
Thank you both very much! Any recommendations on travel from the airport to the hotel? I'm staying at the Sheraton Buenos Aires.

Yes. As you exit from customs you will see a group of booths in front of you where you can arrange for either a private car (remis) or taxi to take you downtown. The cost for a taxi is about 35 pesos. You can also take a shuttle bus to Plaza San Martin....but it seems more trouble than it is worth for me...so I usually just take a cab. Important: Do not get a cab from the curb at the international airport. Use one of the booths, either inside or outside of the termina....
