One Week in Mexico - Itinerary Suggestion Needed
Hey folks. I have found this bulletin very helpful in the past so I like to get your advice again. I am taking my son, 13, to Mexico with me for one week in April ( he has special needs so I won¡¦t be taking him to many museums and cultural places). As usual, I like to visit many more than I could manage in one short week. We are flying Saturday, March 31 to Mexico City, and flying back from Mexico City the following Saturday, so it¡¦s somewhat shorter than I wanted. Given that, I was thinking of the following itinerary. What do you think?
„X Saturday, March 1st ¡V Mexico City „X Sunday ¡V Mexico City and surroundings „X Monday ¡V rent a car and leave for San Miguel in the morning ¡V arrive by early afternoon „X Monday night, San Miguel „X Tuesday, Leave for Guadalajara „X Tuesday night in Guadalajara „X Wednesday in Guadalajara „X Thursday morning leave for Puerto Vallarta „X Thursday, Friday in Puerto Vallarta „X Friday night, fly to Mexico City ¡V late flight „X Saturday morning, fly back to San Francisco I am tempted to cut back either from Mexico City or Guadalajara and add a day in Puerto Vallarta, especially if we can travel up or down the coast there. What do you think? Also, based on what I read, I also very much like to see the flowing cities but can¡¦t make the time for it. Do you think I should substitute one of these for anything above? „Ï Colima „Ï Ixtapa & Zihuatanejo „Ï Taxco „Ï Oaxaca Thanks for your help. Safa |
I think it's overly ambitious as you'll spend half time in the car.

You will be spending most of your time in cars, busses, airports, airplanes. You are covering a LOT of ground for 7 days only. And you definitely don't need to add any more places imo!

Waaay too much on this itinerary. Personally, I'd chose two places instead of 4. Four different hotels, 5 trips, too much to remember even being there.

I would suggest simply going to Puerto Vallarta for the week. It's a wonderful place. Perhaps flying or taking a bus to Guadalajara for 1-2 days, if you really want to see two places.
