One easy question!

We are going to be landing at Liberia on Sunday at about noon...we need to get to Playa Samara...shall we just look for a driver/taxi when we get there? Is it something we should arrange ahead of time? Thanks! Sarah

hi sarah, from travel experience the only difference i have noticed in this area is that if you program in advance you can agree upon a rate whereas if you just hire someone on the fly, sometimes that could be a bit of a hassle regarding price. if price is an issue, then no worries.

Hindsight is 20/20...but you'd have been better off flying to San Jose and hopping the quickie flight to Samara, but I'll assume you got a great deal on the Int'l fare.

You should definitely attempt to arrange the transport prior to arrival. That's a pretty long taxi fare and you'll get the gringo shuffle at the airport if you don't have a pre-set fee.

How was the weather for your trip last year in Guanacaste in October? I am probably going to end up in Playa Conchal this October...

I'd have to disagree with one of the previous posters about flying into Samara is better than driving from Liberia. First of all, I doubt if the taxi fare will exceed $30 for the car which is a lot cheaper than the cost of the flights. Secondly, it doesn't take that long to get to Samara from the airport, the road is good, and it's a scenic trip. Have fun!
