One-day cooking classes in/near Zihuatanejo?
We'll be back in Zihua for two weeks this summer and I would love to find a day-long cooking class. Nothing fancy, just the basics of home cooking. Any ideas how to find something like this? Thanks!

There was a gal doing this but have heard nothing lately. Suggest you go to Zihuatanejo.net & ask this question. Many, Many things shut down during the summer as most tourists are Mexican Nationals then with a bit of different interests. Good Luck!

Thanks Stewbear. That's actually one of the things we like about going there in low season - it's so quiet and you seem to get a real feel for the place. And no cruise ships!! I'll try the link, and I'm waiting to hear from Miguel at the hotel; I'll post if he has any ideas.

Heard back from Miguel and he recommended Monica Perez at www.patiomexica.com - I have been in contact with her and we're arranging for a few short classes - she seems very pleasant and flexible. One class is going to involve a trip to the mercado with shopping tips. We're not going until the end of July but I'm already excited!! Will definitely let y'all know how it goes.
