Ollantaytambo, Peru

Hello forum,

I'm applying for a position to work at a weaving cooperative in Peru. Has anyone been to Ollantaytambo or have any suggestions about life there? Just looking for general info and pictures would be great too. Thanks.

We stayed in Ollantaytambo for 4 nights and loved the village. I don't know what it would be like to live there, I would imagine quite low key, quiet and very nice. People were very friendly and the area is beautiful. Lots of hikes in the area. I did meet a young woman in Cusco who lived there for 2 months and really liked it. She found Cusco too "big city" after her time in Ollantaytambo. I guess if you wanted the big city, Cusco, u could get there in an hour or so by bus or car. What a great opportunity you have!

Go for it .

The whole Sacred Valley is a nice place and you can do side trips to Cusco and Machu Picchu.

How long are you going to be working there.?

I'd be there at least six months. What were costs like? Anyone have any photos? Would you say its safe for a young (23) girl to go live there on her own?

And thanks to all who have replied!

There is no reason for you not to be safe in Ollantaytambo or anywhere in the Scared Valley.

Have a good time

Percy
