Old Fodorite who left US to build hotel in Costa Rica?

A couple of years ago there was a woman who participated in the Costa Rica forum, and who had decided she loved the country so much she was going to build a hotel of her own down there.

Who was that? And does anyone know what is happening with that plan? Is the hotel up and running yet?

There certainly could have been a few - but - Was it Ally?

If so look at this site, they should be open by the first of the year or so. http://plumeriasdelmar.com/

Donna, I've been wondering about Ally lately. She's there permanently now, right? Have you heard anything lately?

I am not sure, I was thinking her last email said she was getting ready to leave. That was about mid way through all the flooding, you may have gotten that one with the pictures of the roads flooded?

But have not heard anything in a few weeks. I guess we need to check!

I'm guessing she and Rick are incredibly busy with final details. Remember they had, at one time, thought to open in November. I'll drop her an e-mail, and see if she has maintained the same e-mail address. Their timing is good, I believe. In time, that entire Pacific Coast will be developed and, barring something extremely unfortunate, tourism to the area will (my prediction) continue to increase. Liberia is going to have to build a new airport!

No luck--e-mail returned undeliverable. Maybe she will check out the board soon and give us an update.

Thanks for the reminder. That's who I was thinking of.
