october trip!

hi there-

the boyfriend and i are trying to plan a trip in early october, possibly leaving october 1st and coming back on the 6th.

is latin america a good destination for that late in the year? will the weather be half decent?

any suggestions on where to go, and/or what to see?

any help is much appreciated. thanks =D

btw- if it matters any we will be departing from seattle, WA. and the more economical the better as neither of us are independantly wealthy or anything.

hiya , with only 5 days you'd better stick to just one country. distances here are huge. Go for one country and see the most important sites there. The weather varies from country to country and palce to place. In Rio it's good but don't forget it's winter south of the ecuator. Any more help just ask. Peru should be a good option,. Depends what your interests are.

I was recently in Puerto Vallarta, Mexico and although I can't speak to the weather there in October, that is a great town. And the reason I though I would mention this to you is because there seemed to very good connections from the Seattle, WA area. Frontier Airlines has direct connections. (It was a pain traveling from the East Coast through Dallas, so I was envious of the passengers on their direct flight home to Seattle!). :)

October is hurricane season I would really think about P.V. not likely but possible happened a few yrs ago category 5. Also anywhere in the Caribbean is subject to hurricanes until the season is over the only place that is safe is Aruba, as far as the other countries below Mexico I don't know.

Butsey, sorry but you're wrong, a hurricane has never hit PV. In 2002 it was a near miss, it actually hit San Blas.
We had some storm surge damage at the beach, but only 1" of rain and hardly any wind.
