ocotal
Hi. Am planning a CR trip next year but am overwhelmed with info! It is for a family of 4- parents and 2 children 10 and 12. was thinking initially of a combo of ARenal area and Tulemar but have since discovered these amazing all inlclusive villa rentals in ocotal. the thought of someone cooking all my meals and drinks is making me giddy!!
so - what is this area like? are there some good day trips we can do there (need to do at least 1 zipline). are the beaches as lovely as they look? any feedback is appreciated. |

p, we haven't gone to that area because it can be a lot drier and dustier than other areas of CR. I hope someone with experience there is able to help.

volcanogirl, as you can see by my posting, i am so confused with planning this trip. it is our first time to cr, kids will be 10 and 12. was originally looking at arenal and mo area (tulemar) but now this all inclusive villa (cook, food and alcohol) with beautiful beach sounds perfect too. my concern is will i see the real cr?

I personally would go to Manuel Antonio with kids that age. The beach inside the national park is beautiful, so lush and green, and full of monkeys. Tulemar has its own beach, and there are many restaurants you can walk to. I like to try all the neat little spots, to me that's more fun that eating at the place where we're staying, but you may feel differently about it. I know Tulemar has personal chefs that come in to cook for people if you want to hire them, but the restaurants in the area are very good and lots of them have gorgeous views. Tons to do in the area as well.
