Nightlife in Akumal?
<BR>We're thinking of renting a villa for a week in Akumal. What is the area like? Is it relatively small & secluded or are there many shops, restaurants, etc.? We don't want to go anywhere too quiet...we'd like a little nightlife. Thanks!

Joan, <BR>Based on your comments, I don't believe Akumal is for you.<BR>It is extremely quiet and laid back.<BR>There is very little shopping - maybe 4 or 5 very small shops, and no night life to speak of.<BR>For some of us, it's heaven, but it does not sound like it fits what you are looking for.<BR>Why don't you look at Playa del Carmen a little futher up toward Cancun?<BR>Many shops and restaurants, and a bustling and varied nightlife.
