Belize 9 day adventure trip- Young Couple
Hello, I was wondering if someone could help me out with planning my trip. I am coming from Houston, TX and wanted to do mostly adventure activities such as:
Skydiving
Scuba diving
Hiking
Rafting
Horseback
Maya Ruins
and any other fun tours to help teach about the culture/people.
So my question is, where would I book a hotel to stay? Also, would it be cheaper to buy an adventure touring package, or purchase separately upon arriving?
I will arrive 1/1/2014 and depart 1/10/14.
Thanks for the help!

I agree with RAC - if you split your trip between inland and a beachy place, you'll get a bit of everything without have to spend hours on shuttles or buses. Most folks split between Cayo District in western Belize and either Caulker or Ambergris Caye. I'd suggest 3-4 nights in Cayo, at least a night in Guatemala to see Tikal and maybe Yaxhá, and the rest on Caulker.
My photos with blog and travelogue links on the main page of each collection are below in case you're interested - all my recommendations are embedded there. I'd be happy to help with more specifics as your plan evolves. Happy trails!

What would you suggest as far as buying the tour packages. Would it be cheaper to buy it before I arrive as one big package, or is it better to just get them once I'm there?
As far as Guatemala, would I need anything other than a passport to get in to Tikal?
Thank you for the response. It's a big help!
