Need wedding white wine in Costa Rica

My daughter has lived in Costa Rica for 4 years and is getting married there in
September. The family coming from USA will want some decent white wine ( Pinot griogio) . What are the best, most cost effective varieties I can buy? I heard airport has some limitations on the number of bottles one can purchase. I also plan to stop at Walmart in Alajuela. Any reasonable priced options? They will be here for.a week! Thanks for any suggestions.

I cannot give you any specific recommendations, but my guess would be wines from Argentina and Chile would be most available. I would not bring any wine from here and just buy it once you are in CR. Have a fun wedding celebration!

You'll find a good variety of white wines in general and Pinot Grigio in particular at many stores in Costa Rico. There will be wines from Italy, France, the US, Argentina, Chile, there will be low priced wines and high priced wines, wines with corks, wines with screw tops, old wines, young wines, vintage wines, non-vintage wines, etc., etc. In short you'll find the same kind of variety you have "back home". Pick one that meets your budget.

I disagree. It won't be quite the same variety as back home. Wines from Chile and Argentina are readily available and reasonably priced. You have to hunt a little harder for other wines and they will be more expensive.

Thank you all. Looking forward to trying varieties from Chile and Argentina .
