Need Volcano Park in Arenal HELP, please

DH, DD almost 6 and I are going to CR for the first time in March. We're staying at Lost Iguana. In Arenal we plan to do Hanging Bridges w/guide, Eco Glide, Cano Negro w/sunset, Los Lagos, Eco Termales and Volcano Park.

Here my question and need of help...
I talked to one traveller who did Volcano National Park on own w/kids and thought it was good and a place that could be done w/out a guide. I'm debating with myself on these options.
1) volcano tour - silencio trail OR
2) volcano national park on own OR
3) or (we'll be horseback riding in MA) horseback with Don Tobias

How do the trails at the National Park differ from the Silencio Trail?

Any feedback is appreciated. Just trying to determine whether we will really miss much if we go on our own. Thanks.

Hi, AK; we did a volcano hike as part of a tour, so I'm not much help to you. Honestly I think we would have been bored on our own. The tour guide gave us some interesting history about the volcano.

I wanted to ask you what Eco Glide is - never heard of it.

Well good to know you thought you'd be bored without a guide. Eco glie is a zip line in Arenal I've been told about and it looks good for us with our child.

Oh, fun, good that you found one that's age appropriate. Have a great trip!

Good idea, Marina - we loved the waterfall hike, and you can swim in the little area off to the left down the stairs. We saw a family with two little girls having so much fun there.

Thanks for the suggestion on the waterfalls but we ruled that out. We see tons of waterfalls, for massive sized to trickles living in Alaska and having been to Hawaii 5 times. I know my husband would not swim there and so for my daughter to go I would want to and that really doesn't appeal to me.

As mentioned we are already planning hanging bridges and a zip line.

So I am still seeking feedback about my options for a volcano hike. Thanks.
