Need some advise for backpackers budget

Hí! We are 2 ´women travelling to Brasil in october. We´re flying to Saõ in the night time and ´re wondering if it´s possible to fly to another city still at mid-night? And what´s the best, most safe and cheap hostel or b&b place there, and do we need to make a reservation before, are those very popular? We have three weeks time to get around there, What do you recommend? We would like to go to Salvador, Penedo and Amazón, is the Brazil pass the best way? If we take the Brazil pass, do we have to know our plans already when we buy it and is there another pass than this 530$ one? And some advise to Amazón, accommodations, tours etc.. Hello, The only airpass that will get you as far as the Amazon is the one that costs $530.00. Yes, you have to reserve the airpass before you begin travel, but changes are allowed for a fee. Youth hostels are very well organized in Brazil. The website is: http://www.albergues.com.br/english.html Try to stay in a private room though, it would be safer than the communal style rooms. Cost is about $15.00 US a night. Although I have never stayed in one of these hostels, I became aware of their existence in Brazil due to the advertising campaign that they have on TV and in print media. If you want nice accommodations in Rio at a slightly higher price, try Residential Apart Hotel. It is in the Arpoador section which has access to both Copacabana and Ipanema. Great location. The hotel is an apart-hotel, so you will have a small kitchenette.

Hello, yes, I would strongly recommend the Brazil-Airpass because you want to go to different and far from each other destinations, ..so the bus would not be good to travel, because for the long destinations you need too much time and not only 3 weeks)! I would suggest the following route: As you said you would fly to Sao Paulo first I would recommend you staying there overnight, and maybe one more night.. then you can take a flight to Foz do Iguacu- the greatest waterfalls, ..incredible-after you could fly from there directly to Amazone- Manaus or Belem, than fly to Natal or Maceio (both very charming places with beautiful beaches, from Maceio you can go by bus to Penedo ... from Maceio fly to Salvador and then try to stay a few days also in Rio de Janeiro, the most wonderfull city of the world, at least my favourite one! This way you can go back to Sao Paulo by bus (6 hours)if you will have to take your flight back there!
