Need other, alternative hotel suggestions...

I need another hotel suggestion in the Santa Teresa/Mal Pais area. We have Milarepia reserved for 4 nights and need to book another place for our last 2 nights. We've tried Tropico Latino and Casa Chameleon(booked), don't want to stay at Florblanca. What are som other places to try? What is The Place like? Do they have a website?

When are you going? If you're trying for Christmas to New Years I don't think there is anything in the area available...I tried helping some good friends for that time and we couldn't find anything. If that's when you need something. Maybe something will open up...you never know...try google search for The Place,Blue Jay, Moana Lodge...that's all I can remember. Good Luck!

I'm going in the beginning of Feb. Feb 1st - 11th. Will be at the beach from Feb. 5 - Feb. 11

Mal Pais is getting busier these days, especially during high season. The website for THE PLACE is theplacemalpais.com (I'm playing hookie at work right now and dreaming about Mal Pais :)) The website does make it look fancier than it is. It's not bad, but it is just off the main road and not very private like it looks on their website. Still, not a bad choice and centrally located.

surfexec-

is The Place right on the beach?

No, it's not on the beach. There is no view of the beach either. That's what I meant by the website remark. It appears to be on the beach the way it looks on the website. It is not a far walk to Playa Carmen though. Just don't expect what the website shows. It's simple and clean, but not private. Although there is some planting in between, the pool area is very close to the main road. The bungalows are not as private as they appear on the website. Not bad for the price and location. Check out www.nicoyapeninsula.com for their location and other hotels in Mal Pais and Santa Teresa. It has a map showing where the hotels are located.
