Need Hotel advice for woman traveling solo to Puerto Vallarta
I would like to take a vacation to PV late Feb/March. I have actually been there twice solo (Marriott and Krystal) but would like to stay in the old town area this time. I was thinking about Casa-Andrea, but am not sure if I would be out of place with all the couples it seems like it would attract. Any suggestions?

Frommers.com recommends Los Quatros Vientos as a favorite among solo women travelers. You might want to check it out?

My husband and I will at Casa Andrea the last week in Feb. Dori. We are a professional couple in our early 40s, quite safe for single women, like fun!

Thanks for the responses!

i stayed at Casa Andrea a couple years ago for 2 weeks (solo, female). it was great. nice atmosphere, close to the beach, low-key but good ammenities (like the patio kitchen in each room, coin-op washer dryer in the common area, good pool, quiet and peaceful).
i didn't feel out of place at all. depends on who's staying there your particular week(s), but even if people congregate down on the patio, you can join in or go your own way. there's only 10 units (i think) so it's not like a resort at all, more B&B or family-home style. definitely not just for couples, more like having a nice apartment of your own & in a really good central location. |
Los Quatro Vientos is a charming hotel but it is set up in a residential neighborhood way 'behind' the cathedral in El Centro. I believe it is mentioned for single women because the management/ownership is female. It's a nice place but a 15+ min. hike (or short taxi ride) to get down to the main beach.
Personally for me traveling solo, it seemed I might feel a bit too isolated, compared to something more central and 'south of the river'. But if you want it more quiet and in an authentic part of town, might be right for you. www.cuatrovientos.com |
