need great beach resort near liberia airport in costa rica
 

My wife and I can go to costa rica for 4 nights. We want to stay at a luxurious beach resort close to Liberia airport. We want great food and beach. We are willing to pay for luxury. Any Ideas?

the paradisus playa conchal is one of the highest rated properties in that area - in terms of a "resort" atmosphere. It is all-inclusive. Also, check out the new Four Seasons which I imagine is very luxurious as all of their resorts are. That is probably your best bet.

We stayed at the Hotel Sugar Beach in March and loved it. It's in it's own cove so is more secluded than most. Lots of monkeys in the trees. Excellent restaurant with ocean view. For $100 per night, the deluxe rooms are very nice.

Are the beaches nice sandy or are they rocky?

i think it depends on the area & the beach at each resort is different. i haven't been to any of them so i can't give you any idea - my guess is that the 4 seasons would have plenty of beach area as it is out on an isthmus & again, probably the most luxurious if that is what you want.

The beach at Playa Conchal is very nice - one of the prettiest in Costa Rica. It is a long crescent of light colored sand with a lot of crushed shells mixed in. There is a bit of snorkeling near the rocks on one end of it.

I did not hear great things about the beach at the Four Seasons.

@0 minutes from Liberia airport - Four Seasons. It is said to be the most luxurious resort in Costa Rica. Food reviews are good, not only one beach but two. Playa Virador facing the open Pacific and Playa Blanca - a long beautiful beach perfect for snorkeling as there are coral reefs right off the beach. Both beaches are sandy not rocks. Good Luck
