Need 2BR 2BA all-inclusive, Mayan Riviera

My sister- & brother-in-law & 2 teenage girls are looking for a 2BR/2BA unit or villa at an all-inclusive resort in Mexico, preferably Mayan Riviera, for about a week in July (yes they know it will be hot). They want a place where the two teenage girls can have fun, not get bored, and have a little independence while being safe too. Brother-in-law likes golf, tennis, & snorkeling. The teenage girls of course love to shop. Mom wants sun & relaxation. Suggestions? Thanks in advance.

They are also willing to consider places outside the Mayan Riviera -- e.g. elsewhere on the Mexican coast, Belize, or even a Caribbean island. This would be for the first or second week of July.

I don't know of any 2 bdrm all inclusives, and am not an all inclusive fan.
However ... there are some nice condos in Playa del Carmen with 2 bedrooms that'd save you money over the big all inclusives, with kithcen, etc. and you can walk right out the door and be on 5th Ave. with tons of restaurants.
Check out villasacbe.com, and royal palms condos.
The Playa Maya Hotel is right on the beach in PDC, and has family suites. It has a good reputation.
Otherwise, why not book 2 adjacent rooms at an Iberostar resort?
Good luck!

Thanks Frankie. I am not a huge fan of all inclusives either -- but they are, and I guess with two teenagers an AI makes things somewhat easier.

I found out they previously stayed at the Gala a few years ago and liked that a lot. I think it may have changed ownership since then.

Brother-in-law is also keen on diving (he's pretty experienced apparently.)

Any other suggestions out there?

Check out a rental at the Royal Resorts. They are 2 bedroom/2 bathroom timeshares, but they rent to nonmembers. The Royal Sands in Cancun fits all of your criteria. There is also a new royal, The Royal Haciendas, in Playa del Carmen, currently under construction, opening it's first villas on July 1, 2006. As a timeshare, it is not AI, but your room key is also your "credit card" to use at all restaurants, shops, et al so it's like an all inclusive. With so many fine restaurants in the area, you are not restricted to on-site dining. The Royals prohibit "spring breakers" and are very family friendly. And do not worry about timeshare sharks. The Royals sell without harrassment; if you're not interested, tell them so and you'll be left alone. Check out reviews on tripadvisor. You can rent from ISCO through the Royal Resorts, or through tug2, mexicondo, or omcancun websites.
