My son traveling in Mexico with my brother- documents needed?

My 15 yr old will travel to Cabo San Lucas with my brother this summer. He already has a passport. Does he need to carry a notarized letter stating that we are allowing him to travel with my brother to Mexico? Who do I contact to find out exactly what is needed?

I work for an airline and can tell you that he will need a notarized letter from both parents stating that he has permission to travel to Mexico with your brother and the dates of travel (make the dates longer than the trip is intended , just in case of delays). With the passport, he will have all he needs.

Thanks for the info Robert. Who will be checking that info? Airline employees or government officials once he gets to Mexico?

I would also include in the letter that your brother has the authority to seek medical attention and make decisions should the need arise.

I am not sure about customs in Mexico or US, but the airlines will not let him board without a notarized letter from both parents.
