Must See Places in Costa Rica

We are planning a ten day trip in Costa Rica in July. We are staying at Playa Papagayo and are renting a car, so we can make daily trips. What would be a must see within that time period?

We would like to see a volcano, some wild life at a rain forest, do a canopy tour, zipline tour, and spend some time on the beach. Be somewhat active, but nothing too crazy. More chill experience........

Any suggestions are welcome. Thanks.

Do you have to spend the entire time in that area? I would split my time and spend half of it in Arenal, so you don't have to do so much driving. Arenal will give you the volcano, the Cano Negro tour to see wildlife, Sky Trek ziplines, the Hanging Bridges; it has everything you're looking for except beach time.

If you are staying at Papagayo the entire ten days, you'll be doing a lot of driving to see anything other than beaches. I would check out Rincon de la Vieja National Park which is dry tropical forest, has ziplines around there at Buena Vista Lodge, thermal springs, water tube, horseback riding, hanging bridges, hiking trails, mud bath.

We already booked our hotel, so it looks like we will be doing a lot of driving. It seems like places I was thinking about visiting are on your guys' top five. Very much appreciated!

Here's some of the top activities in Costa Rica as recommended by one of our travel writers - nothing too intense, but lots of fun!
