Moon Palace

We are thinking of booking the Moon Palace for February 2006. I've heard the beach sucks. Lots of seagrass. Is this true? And it is just opening after the hurricane. What is this area like now - is there alot of damage? Should we go further south perhaps?

The resort is really nice, but the beach is not. If you are one who likes to spend lots of time on the beach, I would look at the resorts on the "strip" in Cancun. If you stay at one of the other Palace Resort properties, then you have access to all others. So if your heart is set on the Moon Palace, you could still stay there and then go to another property (Beach Palace, Sun Palace, Cancun Palace) that has a better beach or you could stay at another property and still use the facilities at the Moon Palace.

I have to agree with the previous post about the beaches and resort, but the Moon Palace is far south of the strip and unless they are running free shuttles, cabs aren't cheap. I would only go to the Moon Palace if you wanted to stay at one resort and not go anywhere else.

Thanks. But I understand that Cancun was hit hard by Hurricane Wilma. What about the Riviera? We do want a nice beach. And golf too. Hence Moon Palace which has a course.

You might want to look for a hotel around Playacar - just south of Playa del Carmen. Many AIs to choose from and golf close by.
