Molino de Agua
 

I am looking for anyone who may have stayed here. We are planning on it but would like any recent feedback. We are being quoted a rate of 109.00 (current exchange rate + 17% tax)for a cabin.<BR>This is for end of February early March.<BR>Any feedback would be appreciated.<BR>Cheers!

We stayed there last year in one of the cabins. You didn't mention what accomodations you asked about. There are rooms on the beach too. The cabins are nearest to the street, have no view of the oceon, and since they have air conditioning you feel pretty shut off from everything. The pool is nice and the restaurant and the employees are very friendly, agreeing to hold a few bags for us for a week until we returned from Yelapa a week later. It's not a place I would want to spend a lot of time, but for our purposes, (two days in and two days out) it was fine and I believe we payed $85. Too much for the cramped room with no ambiance.

That sounds kinda high to me for the cabins. They are quite small, only one bed in most (all?), and set on various paths thru the gardens. I'd go for a beach &quot;view&quot; (meaning not the newest, most expensive wing ocean &quot;front&quot; suites but these are more like regular Mexican-style hotel rooms in nice big bungalow style buildings) if it wasn't way too much more $.<BR><BR>The grounds are lovely, two huge pools, nice service, a couple restaurants.<BR><BR>Molino de Agua is a *GREAT* central location. Easy walk to everything wonderful in Old Town. Was just there a couple weeks ago, spent a few days on their beach (3 Corona's in an ice bucket delivered 40 peso!), but stayed somewhere else.<BR><BR>My personal favorites in that neighborhood are Posada de Roger (cute, funky, cheap) and Casa Andrea (gorgeous, small, quiet courtyard, B&amp;B style), if you still considering other possibilities.

Thanks for your replies. I thought it was high for the cabins - it was even more for the ocean front suites and we can't swing those. I did check the Casa Andrea - that may be a better bet.<BR>Thanks again

Casa Andrea! We went to PV this past summer and our 2 hotel choices at the end were Casa Andrea and Molino De Agua. We chose Casa Andrea and were so glad we did! Each room is a little apartment, so you can actually do some cooking on your own if you are on a budget (though restaurants in the Zona Romantica are plentiful and reasonable). It was a great, quiet location with a wonderful courtyard. Oh, and they have laundry facilities and a little library (including videos you can watch). Very close to the little pier if you are taking a day trip to Yelapa, right up the blocks from a main strip of restaurants and an easy walk to the shopping area. You will love it. Have fun!

For Mandina's post above... Thanks for the positive post about Casa Andrea!! I have stayed there several times and often recommend it on this board.<BR><BR>For whatever reason it seems many people are hestitant and stick to the regular (boring!!IMHO) large beachfront hotels like Playa Los Arcos, Tropicana, etc. I don't know why when there are true gems like Andrea's place still to be found ;-)
