Mexico or Hawaii in the summer?
We're a family of four; kids are 15 and 10. Kids' schedules restrict vacation time to July or August. We're thinking Cancun, Puerto Vallarta, or Cabo verses Maui. Have been to PV and Cabo, though not with kids, and not in the summer months. Leaning towards PV, where we think we'd get more bang for the buck, but concerned about weather. Is the heat unbearable?

Hi beachbum,
The heat in Cancun is not bad at all during the summer months.
You are into hurricane season at that time though, so that's a concern.
On the up side, you can also get luxury digs at rock bottom prices.
If you want diving or snorkeling, Cancun or Cozumel are the places to go.
It's the rainy season in PV during the summer and I mean torrential rains at times. Just a thought.

Just back from Cancun last night. The temps were in the low 100's during the day and very humid.

Thanks for responses to date. The price differential has pretty much limited our focus to Mexico, more specifically PV and Cancun.

Someone asked about family all-inclusives in another thread. The little research I've done indicates there's a lot of options. Any favorites? Or just as important, any to avoid?
