Mexico City Hotel good value

I need a centrally located hotel in Mexico City, good value, safe, and clean. Please advice. I will be arriving on January 5.

Hotel Gillow . . . near the Centro, they have a website, www.hotelgillow.com.

There's a great place right across the street that sells spit-roasted chicken . . . hmmmmm.

Sandy (in Denton)

Another one that often gets recommended is the Catedral - I believe it's affiliated with the Gillow. Sandy, I love that roasted chicken! Plus there is that great bakery right in that area .....

What are the prices like at these places?

I ask because one person's idea of "good value" isn't the same as another. I'd sent a reply to one guy, suggesting a $45 a night hotel. He thought that was "expensive" and was looking for something more like a hostel under $20.

Have fun!
