Mexican Tourist Card

I will be flying into Cancun and have read that the paperwork for the Tourist Card is handled in flight, and that the cost is included in the ticket price. However, I purchased my ticket using frequent flyer miles. Is the cost of the Card still included, or will I have to pay an additional amount? Does anyone have experience with this?

Yes, everyone on the plane will be given the landing materials, and the card is a perforated part of the landing card. It will be stamped and given to you by the customs agent, and then collected by your airline when you leave.

Yes, it's included in the "taxes" you paid even flying on FF miles.
You should get two forms: the FM-T and customs declaration.
Be sure to retain the FM-T they give you until departure (o/w they'll charge you as much as $45.US).

I'll be sailing into Acapulco from a cruise that starts in Miami. Will I need a tourist card? I'm getting off the ship and going to the airport to leave the country.

I would check with the cruise line, I have never run across an exception to the need for a tourist card on departure by air. Best guest is that upon leaving the cruise you will need to clear customs and immigration in Mexico on entry, and likewise, need your paperwork to depart.

I recently took my daughter on a cruise to Mexico and they asked for nothing but a passport. When we fly to Mexico, I have to present a notarized letter from her father giving me his permission to take her out of the country, but not once did the cruiseline or Mexican custom officials ask for it.....
