Mexican Riviera Luxury - Where to stay?

My wife and I are getting away for 5 days next week for our first anniversary and are looking for a high-end, beautiful, romantic and quiet getaway with top flight service. We're considering Excellence Riviera Cancun, Royal Hideaway Playacar, Esencia Hotel and Zoetry Paraiso del Bonita. I know thsat Esencia is the only one that is not all-inclusive, but if it is a much nicer experience, we would do that. Any thoughts on my best option? Thanks.

My sister went to Zoetry last month and said the service, food, amenities were superb. It is small (only 90 rooms) and there isn't much to do at night if that is an issue for you.

I second Maroma!

Thanks for all of the input. Maroma looks beautiful, but I was able to get a much better rate at the other places. Has anyone heard anything about the state of the beaches at any of these resorts?

Royal Hideaway beach has suffered severe erosion and has those ugle sandbag 'whales' on the beach.

I "third" Maroma resort. We have stayed there numerous times. It is a very special place with lovely accommodations and a top notch staff. And, the beach is wide and gorgeous.

I found the following website very useful when researching the Mexican Riviera and Yucatan area: http://www.luxurylatinamerica.com/lux_mexico.html

It is exclusively for luxury travel, tours, and hotels. Hope it helps!
