We stayed there at X-mas. It was OK, but certainly not 5 star. I think you can do a lot better for your money somewhere else. No gym, very limited watersports, dull food, major lawn chair problem (we had to be up by 6am in order to get a chair for the day). Any other questions, feel free to e-mail me.
What is it with Puerto Vallarta and chairs?? We stayed at the Qualton Club and Spa in February and I noticed the same thing?? People were on the beach and at the pool at 6 a.m. "saving" chairs?? I've never found this when I've gone elsewhere have I been lucky before?

Yes, you've been lucky before, or at better run hotels. Never had a problem at Krystal Vallarta because there were always plenty of chairs. Last week at the Melia San Lucas, in Cabo San Lucas, though, again, you had to "save" chairs early in the morning if you wanted one. It's a shame, because it would really require fewer chairs if people could count on being brought one when it was needed, but one day of having nowhere to sit by the pool at my $320-a-day hotel was enough to make me a hoarder, too.
Too sad huh? What really annoyed me was when you watched the chair remain vacant all day! If you're going to "hog" the chair the least you could do is use it! I've stayed at Club Meds and at Jack Tar Village before and NEVER had this problem!

About all inclusive resorts in Puerto Vallarta.

Highly recommended but maybe a little more expensive is the Presidente Inter.Continental, a very elegant all-inclusive hotel , a la carte meals, mini bar service, good beach, spacious rooms and great service ( the hotel has only 120 rooms ). You should not expect the loud shows and entertainment here though, so if you like that, you could maybe consider the Sierra Nuevo Vallarta ( a real 5*) or the Allegro Resort ( a good 4*), however these two are located in Nuevo Vallarta. The beaches there are very good, but you are a bit farther from the downtown area.

Please do not hesitate to contact me if you would like to receive any other recommendations.

Also, I can recommend to have a look at the following web-sites so you can have a look at what to do and see in Puerto Vallarta :

http://www.go2vallarta.com
http://www.royale-tours.com

Have a great trip !
