Mayan Riviera AI's?

We are looking into a family vacation...2 adults and 2 children, ages 11 and 15. My travel agent is recommending the Palace Resorts....would like any comments about which one is best. We would like a nice beach, awesome pool, and good food! Any recommendations besides the Palace Resorts for an all inclusive?

I think more people are happy with Iberostars and Rius than Palace Resorts. Palace Resorts have aggressive timeshare sales.

Any of the Iberostars in the Riviera Maya would be a great choice.
Go to http://www.iberostar-board.com/boards/index.php
for great information.

We have stayed at the Grand Palladium White Sands twice. It's fantastic. Huge resort, but gorgeous and reasonably priced.

i just came back from sandos caracol in riviera maya. very very nice.great food- albeit too much for my taste a few pool choices- some deeper some more shallow. Beach is great albeit a bit rocky. need to walk about 5 min to the right of the hotel beach where there are no rocks. Plus hotel has tons of activities. Staff extremely friendly and helpful! I booked through apple vacations. this is all inclusive.

We stayed in the Xaman Ha condos next to the Playacar Palace in December. The beach there was not good. They came over to our beach for with their kids club, and to play beach volleyball. Most playacar area resorts do have good beaches, but this particular palace resort (the only one in Playcar) doesn't. It's at the very beginning of the Playacar strip of resorts. Furthere south where the Rius and Iberostars are, there are very nice beaches. The Moon Palace (which is in Cancun) has very seaweedy beaches.

Just got back from a week at Sandos Playacar and loved it. It was paradise. Wonderful beach. Reasonable price. Not all of the AI resorts in Playacar have great beaches, so it's good to check around. Go to www.locogringo.com

Highly recommend Barcelo Maya Tropical/Colonial. Fantastic Beach, fantastic pool, good food, very nice room, great snorkeling right off the beach, kids waterpark.
