Mayan Princess/with teens

We were thinking of booking this hotel in Honduras for two weeks in July.Is this too long with two teenage girls,or is there enough around to keep busy?Any input on this hotel/beach would be helpful.

This would be the Mayan P. on the Bay Islands of Roatan or is there another on the mainland? Just wanted to clarify before I responded. Repost, thanx. Lisa in CR

We were in Roatan in February 2005 and although we did not stay at the Mayan Princess, we did walk thru the resort. At the time, they were constructing a new restaurant which I'm sure is completed by now. The beach was absolutely gorgeous ... white sand and crystal blue water! The pool was large and the resort units definitely upscale. From West Bay, you can watertaxi to West End where there is a bit of shopping and several restaurants. I don't recall a great deal of teen oriented activities but knowing teenage girls just a great pool and great beach might be enough? There were some activities on the island such as horseback riding and a canopy tour which might be fun. There is alot of snorkeling on Roatan and it's very good. Two weeks on Roatan might be a stretch if you're not a big beach fanatic. I would also discourage the girls from going to Coxen Hole (where the cruise ships come in). West End was a bit fun and funky, a few shops and open air tropical restaurants. Another option is to rent a vehicle for the day and explore the island by yourselves. There are some spectacular!! vistas in may spots of the island. I hope this helps! Email me if you'd like more info at [email protected]. More than happy to help! Additionally, yahoo has a bulletin board for Roatan. You might want to post your question there and correspond with people living on Roatan.
