Maroma Resort
 

I would like to ask about Maroma Resort-not Secrets Maroma.If you have visited there,please post something about the place in general and exactly how to get there.

I believe it's a non-AI hotel. It's considered luxary and very expensive. Sits on a great stretch of beach. Check Trip Advisor for reviews.

To get there: Book a flight and/or package deal. You'll fly into Cancun and then take a transfer to the hotel. You can add onto your package a shared transfer for around $60. It will take approximatley 45 minutes.

We have been to Maroma 6+ times (we have lost count). The beach is the best and the service excellent. Breakfast is included in the room rate and is huge so you can eat late and skip lunch. They bring coffee to your room or patio in the morning at your requested time. Hammocks are on your private patio. The resort sends a driver to the airport to pick you up. It is very relaxing there with little to do. There is a very nice spa. The spa facilities are some of the best I have been to. It is expensive (at least for me) but it is my husband's favorite place. We always get an ocean view room (or partial view). The garden rooms are around the pool and are very secluded but you cannot see the beautiful water and beach. The decor is mostly handmade by local artisans and is not fancy but is very relaxing with a simple elegance. If you go to their website you can see pictures. We have also been to Secrets Maroma when it first opened. It is on the same fabulous beach but is considerably larger and less private with little personal service. It is all inclusive. If you love beautiful beaches and water and want to relax in a great place you will like Maroma. Happy travles!!!

DId not go on any excursions except snorkle trip which was included. We have been on our own to Chichen Itza and Tulum by rental car. When we were there last, they were offering a reduced price if a group could go. The main purpose we go to Maroma is to rest and relax. Don't know what you mean by the "charming room". All the rooms we have stayed in were ocean or partial ocean view. See my previous post about this. Happy travels!!!

One other thing - "famous" people go there and stay in the private "villa" area. They go to rest and not be disturbed.

We have also been to Maroma Resort many times and obviously,really enjoy it.We have stayed in ocean view and ocean front rooms.All the rooms are a bit different from one another. If we don't like what we are shown, the hotel is very gracious in offering us another.
If you can bring yourself to leave the hotel, a trip to the ruins of Coba is very worth while as is a trip to the Biosphere Reserve.. You can go to Coba on your own or hire a guide or take a guided tour. Again, we give Maroma our highest recommendation..
