Mariposa in Cost Rica

Has anyone very recently visited The Mariposa near Quepos in Costa Rica. I would appreciate any comments--positive or negative.

Thanks,

Brian

We stayed at la Mariposa at the end of June. Mixed feelings: the hotel would appreciate some renovation, but the room are big and the grounds are excellent. Close to the main road, i.e. some restaurants and the bus, if necessary. Really depends on what you are looking for, probably better send me an e-mail, will be able to give a better response.

Also wish someone would do a comparison/contrast with Makanda. We're trying to decide between the 2 and also Villa Caletas (which I know isn't in the same place as the other two).

Haven't stayed at the Mariposa but it appears to have marvelous views.

A restaurant not to miss is right on the grounds of the Mariposa - enter the gate just past the main hotel entrance, just a few yards down the road on the left.

The restaurant is Pacific Sunset, and like the name implies, features terrific sunsets - and more, excellent food. The restaurant owner, Patric, is the son of the owner of the Mariposa. Patric pours great drinks, and he and Paloma, the cook, serve great food, beautifully presented.
