March or Nov for Argentina

Trying to decide when would be the better time to visit BA and the Salta region. We visited BA and surrounds one year in December and it was very hot, so we'd like more moderate weather. Your thoughts, please.. thanks!

We were there last late Oct/early Nov and would consider early/mid Nov next trip.

We were in the Salta region Mid-March last year, the weather was perfect! In fact, besides the first day where it rained in BA, we had beautiful warm sunny days with cool nights for the next 16.

Mikemo, was it a bit chilly in late Oct/early Nov? How about the vegetation? Since it would be Spring, were there trees, flowers blooming?
Owlwoman, same question re the vegetation in Salta in march..fall like or not really?
Thanks, mikemo and owlwoman.

We were in the Salta region in early November (I remember I had to send an absentee ballot before I left). The weather was great, but it did get windy at times in some of the areas. Luckily, we had purchased some woven jackets and shawls, and they definitely came in handy at times. The day we took off to hang out by the pool was warm and sunny, with little wind, though.

The NW of AR is more arid/desertlike, lots of cactus, so I'm not sure how the seasons affect the vegetation in that region. I don't think the cacti change seasonally.

I do know my husband forgot to wear a hat when we were walking around Salta in the late pm and ended up w/a nasty sunburn, didn't realize how strong the sun was there!

Thanks--appreciate the information. Either time sounds good so will just have to see what works best for us.

Salta anytime... November is great still the dry season, cool at night and nice temperature. Lapachos blooming, pink flowers all over and no high season for tourism.
Come anytime.

Early Novemeber in Buenos Aires - the jacarandas are still in bloom. It is a magnificent site. Also lots of other greenery. By mid November the roses in the Rosedael are starting to fade.

I have been in Bs As in both November and March. Both nice times. By the end of Novemeber last year it was getting quite hot.
