The AOL is pretty far removed from town. The Sky Tram and Hanging Bridges are fairly close, and you can drive out to Nuevo Arenal or Toad Hall as well. Breakfast and lunch aren't too bad at the lodge, but dinner is terrible. Evening time slots for a thermal bath is a good idea--especially if they throw in dinner for a reasonable price.

Agree with RAC, dinners at AOL are not good. EcoTermales hot spring in Arenal is a lovely evening and dinner is yummy. That said, I would return to AOL in a heartbeat for all the other offerings there, even dealing with the long adventurous driveway! Views and grounds are amazing, rooms comfortable and spacious, but not luxurious.

So New Years at AOL means REAL fireworks!
