Malaria

I am travelling to Royal Hideaway in Playa Del Carmen in Mexico. Should I be concerned about Malaria and taking prophy? Are resorts in these rural areas high risk places for Malaria? THANK YOU.

If you do check the cdc you will find this area of Mexico does have a Malaria risk , and actually of the more serious sort . How high the risk I am not certain , but saying No it does not have a risk is not true .Faith

The site states the risk is mostly in the rural areas of Quintana Roo , some risk in the Tulum area etc. generally on the resorts they fog to keep bug populations in control , thus risk in resorts themselves is lower . Faith
