Machu Piccu Hotels (Agua Calientes Hotels)

We need a hotel for one night after the 4 day Inca Trail trek. Does anyone have recommendations for or against any in particular? Also do you recommend the hot springs, some have said they are unsanitary? Thanks!

What kind of rates are you thinking of? Prices there start at about $40, but the sky is the limit.

Probably up to $100 a night possibly $150. We were looking at the places in the $40-80 range but seem to see a lot of comments about poor service and moldy walls and linens...

I don't remember seeing anything that was in that range, what I would have gone for too. What I remember was that many of the nicer places were absurdly expensive. I mean like $250 per night per person. We stayed at the Hotel Santuario. It was about 60 or 75 per night total. Definitely nothing fancy, but fine - and in a somewhat quieter area across from the river, down hill from train station, and the last of the buildings in town as road goes to MP.

Last March we stayed at Gringo Bill's, about US$50 or $60, maybe a little more. It was nothing special but it was comfortable and clean and the room was large.

Thank you both for your suggestions. I will look into Santuario and Gringo Bills. Has anyone tried the Presidente?
